A Letter From Our Editor – Caroline Pak, PharmD – Medical Editor-in-Chief
November 20, 2016
On behalf of Get Healthy, Stay Healthy (GHSH), I hope you all are heading into the new season and looking forward to a low-stress (yes, less stress) winter. As we head into the hustle and bustle of the winter holiday seasons, it’s important to take a moment to remember what’s really important to you. Is it spending time with friends, family and loved ones? Is it focusing on something positive and uplifting? How about listening to what your mind and body are telling you? Are you getting strong messages to slow down, breathe deep, and take time to think about what’s really important in your life? If so, maybe it’s a good idea to listen and reflect on them.
To that end, we will be posting content about mindfulness and stress management, just the thing we all may need right about now! As patient-centered care takes center stage in healthcare, you will also find new articles featuring contributors, who are individuals tasked with managing their own care. Be sure to check out our newest contributors, Mariann Farrell and Jamie Navarette who share their personal account of living life with chronic pain. Jill Sisco tells her compelling story about living with acromegaly, a condition resulting from having too much growth hormone. These three amazing women offer tips about how to manage life and advocate for you.
As you know, our goal remains steadfast to provide the kind of medical and health information that you’ll find useful in your daily life as you partner with your healthcare providers. Please come back as we update our content throughout the coming months. As always, we’re very happy that you're part of our wellness community.
