Emily Freeman, PhD, was a Health Behavior and Program Evaluation scientist within the Epidemiology group in Worldwide Safety and Regulatory at Pfizer. She authored the article, What Is Shared Decision Making? during her employment at Pfizer.
Emily received her PhD degree in Health Geography from McMaster University with postdoctoral training in Psychosocial Oncology from the University of Toronto. Her substantive research interests include: patient engagement (social media, behavioral interventions, and health literacy), qualitative health research, clinical epidemiology, measurement of the patient experience within randomized clinical trials (endometriosis and oncology), patient reported outcomes, risk communication, and shared treatment decision making.
