Phil Mendys is a Senior Director, U.S. Medical Affairs, Cardiovascular and Metabolic working as an Region Medical & Research Specialist headquartered in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of North Carolina and has served as faculty member in the School of Pharmacy and Department of Medicine since 2003. Phil has started his career in the pharmaceutical industry in 1983, and joined Pfizer in 1999 supporting the CV & Metabolic portfolio in Groton at Pfizer Global R & D. He later transitioned to RMRS with responsibility for academic centers in the Mid-Atlantic states.
Given his interest in patient care, Phil has been a volunteer advanced practice clinician since 2004 at the UNC Heart & Vascular Center where he has worked to develop an Atrial Fibrillation and Vascular Prevention program. He has been recognized by the American Heart Association as a Fellow by the Council on Epidemiology and Prevention and authored many papers and several book chapters on lipid management and medication adherence.
