Krishan Thiru, MBBS, MHA, FRACGP

Dr Krishan Thiru is the Country Medical Director for Pfizer Australia and New Zealand and the Cluster Medical Director for Internal Medicine in Developed Asia. Trained as a family physician, he has held senior roles in direct patient care, medical education and at major pharmaceutical companies. In 15 years at Pfizer Australia, Dr Thiru has provided medical and scientific expertise to guide the company’s activities in a wide range of disease areas, including cardiovascular medicine, neuroscience, rheumatology, dermatology and rare disease. More recently, he has headed the country medical function across Developed Asia.
Prior to joining industry, Dr Thiru practised in clinical medicine for almost a decade in hospital and community settings, in both metropolitan and country Australia. He has also worked in health media, providing continuing medical education to Australian doctors. Dr Thiru obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Sydney, is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and holds a Masters level management degree from the University of New South Wales. He is a scientific board member for the Accreditation Council for Medical Affairs.
