Leigh Simmonds, BN, MHSc, MPH
Leigh has a clinical background in palliative care and geriatric nursing. A passion for patient education and disease prevention led her to study a Masters of Public Health at the University of Western Sydney and work in corporate health, developing and delivering health promotion programs throughout Australia. Throughout her double-decade career as a health communicator and stakeholder relations manager, Leigh has also worked at The Cancer Council NSW leading a large team to deliver population cancer control strategies in lung cancer and skin cancer prevention, as well as cancer peer support programs and professional development for Health Care Professionals.
Leigh has held leadership roles in corporate affairs and stakeholder relations in-house and consulting to the pharmaceutical industry specifically for the last 15 years. Leigh is passionate about empowering health consumers to drive best health outcomes for themselves and those they care for.
In her current role at Pfizer, Leigh focuses on engagement with Patient Groups and also leads Pfizer’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program – Pfizer CARES.
